The 4 o'clock slate featured the battle of the Cougars as the 13th-seeded Berman took on the 4th-seeded Frisch. Frisch was looking to bounce back after a tough loss in the Yeshiva League Championship, where they fell in the Max Stern Athletic Center to North Shore just four days prior.
The game got off to a fast start as Frisch took an early lead, thanks mainly to superb offensive play by Senior Michael Green. Green connected on a few tough layups and finished the first quarter with six points. As the game progressed, Berman kicked up into full gear. Led by Asher Falk’s superb defensive effort, Erez Epstein's floater game, and Alex August's outside shooting, Berman took the lead late in the second quarter.
Halftime saw the game tied, but Frisch turned up the heat down the stretch. Led by their two stars Isaac Schiffman and Alex Zakheim, Frisch took an early second-half lead and never looked back. The game ended with the final score of 54-40 seeing Frisch move on to the Tier I quarterfinal to face SAR, and Berman moved into the Tier II bracket, where they will face off against Kohelet.
