North Shore, who come into tournament play with a 17-0 conference record, capped off arguably the best season in Yeshiva League history this past Sunday when they pummeled the Frisch Cougars by 20 points in the MYHSAL championship game. The Lions, led by senior David Orbach and junior Ben Abizadeh, will be coming in with a ton of confidence and with their eyes focused on adding another trophy to the trophy case.

If any double digit seed is equipped to hand North Shore their first loss in a long while, it’s the Fuchs Mizrachi Mayhem. They gave TABC a run for their money in the qualifying round last year, and they are more than capable of giving the Lions some trouble. They are led by senior forward Ephraim Blau, who put on a show in last year’s tournament and is the go-to guy for the Mayhem, and Nate Jacobs, their junior sharpshooter who is knockdown from beyond the arc. It will be a very tall task, but if the Mayhem play as a cohesive unit, they’ll have a chance to pull off a major first round upset.

The winner of this game will face off against the winner of the (6) YULA vs. (11) Maimonides game in a Tier I quarterfinal matchup on Friday at the Max Stern Athletic Center.

This Tier I qualifier will take place in the Max Stern Athletic Center and tip off will be at 10:00 a.m. The game will be broadcast by MacsLive; you can watch the game here.
