The MDYHS Warriors faced off against the MTA Lions in a Tier I game, clinching a win of 69-26. With MDYHS commanding the top seed and MTA holding the 16th spot, expectations correctly favored MDYHS to secure the victory.
MDYHS came out swinging with a relentless offensive barrage from the opening tip-off. MTA refused to back down, mourning a spirited offensive effort led by Josh Treuhaft, who scored an impressive 12 points. By the end of the first quarter, MDYHS had established a formidable lead of 18 points. As if things couldn’t get worse for the Lions, Nochi Book re-injured his ankle and left the game for good, but he did get exclusively interviewed by the MacsLive broadcast in the locker room.
As the game progressed into the third quarter, both teams traded blows as MTA's defense tightened up to stifle MDYHS's offensive flow. However, MDYHS's Jimmy Movazeb broke through with a crucial layup, extending his team's lead to a staggering 39 points at the end of the quarter.

Throughout the game, MDYHS showcased standout performances from key players, with Moses Smeke making a significant impact with an impressive 17-point contribution. Their cohesive teamwork and individual brilliance proved to be the deciding factors as they continued to extend their lead. To their credit, the MTA Lions refused to back down, and their offensive execution improved as they sought to narrow the deficit.
As the final buzzer sounded, MTA was unable to close that substantial point gap, and MDYHS secured the win.
The Warriors will embrace a squad who loves to be physical on Friday at 9:00AM in the Tier I quarterfinals against the ninth-seeded Maimonides M-Cats. MTA drops into Tier II against (17) Cooper in TABC at 10:00AM.
