Sarachek Tier I Qualifier Preview : #4 TABC Vs #13 Fasman

Updated: Mar 28

On Thursday in a Tier 1 qualifier, the #4 TABC Storm will take on the #13 Fasman Yeshiva High School, also known as Skokie, in what promises to be an exciting game at the Sarachek Tournament.

TABC enters the tournament with high expectations after a stellar Yeshiva League campaign, finishing 12-2 and advancing to the league finals. Coached by Oz Cross, who has experience developing talent at both the NBA and college levels, the Storm bring a disciplined and battle-tested squad to the tournament. Leading the way is two-time YLP All-Star Eyal Kinderlehrer, a dynamic scorer with size who put up 37 points in last year’s tournament game against Berman. Alongside him, the lefty sharpshooter Yonah Mandel and high-IQ playmaker Dovid Saks, a controlled point guard who refuses to get rushed by anyone, remaining calm and collected at all times. Another key player to watch is junior Akiva Borgen, described as “the bucket getter,” who looks to make his mark in his Sarachek debut.

Fasman, meanwhile, has had a breakout year, finishing 16-7 and securing their highest seed in recent memory. Led by Adir Amster, who averages over 20 points per game, the team boasts a scoring threat who can attack in multiple ways. Additionally, big man Ezra Schwartz provides a strong presence inside. Fasman’s resume includes impressive wins over Rochelle Zell and Ida Crown, demonstrating their ability to not only compete, but hold their own with some tough competition..

This game will be a major test for Fasman as they look to pull off an upset against one of the tournament’s most well-rounded teams. TABC will look to impose their physicality and disciplined play, while Fasman hopes to ride the hot hand of Amster and capitalize on their underdog momentum.

What’s Next?:

The winner of this matchup will advance to the Tier 1 quarterfinals, where they’ll face up against the winner of the SAR/HA Montreal game in their pursuit of a championship. The loser will be relegated to Tier 2, where they’ll still have an opportunity to make a deep run and prove their standing among the top teams in the tournament.
