On Thursday night the (4) DRS Wildcats will take on the (13) YULA Panthers in the Tier I Qualifier. After finishing the regular season with a 12-2 record, DRS suffered a heartbreaking one point loss in their quarterfinal matchup against (6) Frisch. For a YULA team that has the most Tier I championships in Sarachek history, entering the tournament as an underdog with the 13 seed will be unfamiliar territory. The Panthers will be coming into the tournament trying to prove themselves.
The Wildcats focus on sharing the ball and receive contributions from many different players, rather than one star. Aryeh Ivry is their captain and leading scorer, while Ezra Dubin adds shooting and defensive intensity to the team. The Panthers are a little bit bigger than the Wildcats and the rebounding battle will be something to keep an eye on in this matchup.
The winner of this game will advance to the Tier I bracket, while the loser will move on to a Tier II Qualifier and face off with (20) Mekor Chaim.
