Macs Honor Seniors, End Regular Season With 84-58 Win

The Yeshiva Maccabees finished the regular season on a high note with an 84-58 win over the St. Joseph’s - Brooklyn Bears. The Macs honored their seniors tonight and gave more minutes to seniors throughout the game. The Bears hung around early taking a 9-7 lead before the Macs hit their stride and jumped out to a commanding lead. The Macs did not play their starters as much as usual with Turell, Leifer, and Halpert only playing during the first half.

Three Point Shooting:

After a few games where the Macs struggled from the three, it seems they are beginning to hit their stride from behind the arc. The Macs shot 17 of 38 from three tonight which allowed them to jump out to a big lead early and maintain that lead throughout the game. The main contributors from behind the arc tonight were Oren Betesh and Max Leibowitz who made a combined nine threes in the win.

Ball Movement:

The Macs pride themselves on their ability to share the basketball and create great looks for their teammates. Tonight was no different as the Macs assisted 26 of their 30 made baskets in this game. This was great to see heading into the playoffs where the Macs will need to replicate this play in order to make a deep run in the Skyline Conference tournament.
