The Heat led most of the contest and withstood several attempts by the Kings to gain the upper hand. They pulled away late, using their transition game and aggressive defense for easy buckets. Simon Alloul led the way with 14 points, Yaacov Ohayon added 11, and Elior Haimovici grabbed 13 rebounds, constantly pushing the pace. Of course, what’s interesting to note about these Heat from north of the border is that they’re a JV team playing in a Varsity tournament. So, to see them pull this off was spectacular. However, things don’t get any easier with (9) HAFTR up next in the Tier II quarterfinals. Kohelet, who started this tournament in Tier I, will now drop to Tier III and face 19th-seeded Ohr Hatorah.
