Judah Oppenheimer and gang send Frisch home early with a 41-36 victory

Updated: Sep 2, 2019

#6 ranked SAR hoped to ride the momentum of the thrilling victory from the night before into the Friday finale against the #3 seed Yeshivat Frisch.

Frisch knew Judah Oppenheimer was the Stings' best player, so they tried whatever they could to press-cover him throughout the game. The first quarter was high-scoring, as Frisch jumped out to a 19-15 lead at the end of the period.

SAR outscored Frisch 11-4 in the second quarter to give the Sting a 26-23 halftime lead.

The third quarter was nearly scoreless, with only one basket in the first half of the quarter. SAR was able to extend their small lead to nine as they held a 34-25 lead in the final quarter.

The fourth quarter belonged to Frisch. The Cougars closed the gap to two points with one minute to go in the game. In the last minute, Judah Oppenheimer had a key steal that led to an and-one to give the Sting a five-point lead. The final score was 41-36 SAR.

The run continues for SAR with the minor upset over Yeshivat Frisch.
