It has been 1,155 days since the Yeshiva University Macs last tasted victory against Farmingdale State. Tonight, they hope that the wait is over as they step into the one place that has haunted them for years— the Rams gym, otherwise known as the house of horrors.
It’s been too long since the Macs last took down their biggest rivals. December 1, 2021 was the previous time Yeshiva walked out victorious against their Skyline nemesis.
Since then, heartbreak has followed, including last year’s crushing 87-68 loss in the Skyline Conference Championship. That afternoon, Farmingdale celebrated as confetti rained down, and the Macs could do nothing but watch.
Throw the current session records out the window. History doesn’t matter—except that Farmingdale has owned this matchup, winning 23 of 34 meetings. Yet tonight isn’t about history. It’s about flipping the script.
Yeshiva can rewrite the narrative to prove they’ve grown since last year’s championship defeat.
It won’t be easy—Farmingdale thrives in this environment. The crowd will be loud. The Rams will be ready. The Macs mission is simple: end the drought, silence the crowd, and, most importantly, get revenge. Here’s how they can do it.

Win the Battle on the Boards:
Farmingdale State dominates the glass, leading the Skyline Conference with a +4.3 rebounding margin, while Yeshiva sits at -2.3. That gap has been a significant factor in past matchups, fueling the Rams’ transition game and second-chance points. YU must box out, crash the glass, and limit Farmingdale’s extra possessions and second-chance points.
Take Care of the Ball and Control the Tempo:
Both teams are aggressive defensively, with YU averaging 8.41 steals per game and Farmingdale close behind at 8.12. The Rams thrive on turning mistakes into quick points, so the Macs must value every possession. Yet, when YU gets into their half-court offense, they have a clear edge. They lead the Skyline in assists per game (18.47) compared to Farmingdale’s 15, proving their ability to share the ball and create high-quality shots. If they dictate the pace and make the extra pass, good things will happen.
Capitalize at the Free-Throw Line:
In a game that could come down to the wire, free throws might be the difference. The Macs are the best team in the conference from the stripe, shooting 77.3%, while Farmingdale struggles at 67.1% (6th in the Skyline). Attacking the paint, drawing fouls, and converting at the line could be a crucial weapon. If YU can force the Rams into foul trouble while staying disciplined, they can tilt the advantage in their favor.
