The Tier II Championship game looks to be a dandy. Both MTA and Fasman Yeshiva of Skokie are well represented in YU, and look to win the Tier II Championship, which takes place at 1:00 on Monday afternoon.
Fasman has shown that they belong in Sarachek with the performances that they have displayed in their first three games. In their first ever appearance in the Sarachek tournament, they lost a Tier I Qualifier to Miamonides, but then won against Katz on Friday and beat Valley Torah on Sunday.
MTA has shown that they were under-seeded. Despite being #13 in the tournament, they have won every single game they played. They easily beat Hillel of Pittsburgh on Thursday, won on a buzzer-beater by Eitan Warburg on Friday vs Beth Tfiloh, and then outplayed Posnack on Sunday to stamp their ticket to the Tier II championship. The Lions will try to go 4-0 in the tournament, which is a major incentive for the players.
The Tier II Championship should be a close game, as both teams have shown they can compete, and have never been out of a game.
It's Yishiva vs. Yeshiva--Championship Monday at 1:00.
