The David Posnack Jewish Day School Rams and the Robert M. Beren Academy Stars meet in a Tier II Qualifier matchup.
Posnack, in the marquee 2:30 P.M. matchup, lost to YULA 59-46, despite Joshua Schultz’s dominant 23 points.
Beren, in the only upset of Thursday’s games, was down 44-36 at the end of the third quarter. Beren’s Senior forward Akiva Garner single-handedly took the team on his back, scoring 15 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, resulting in a thrilling 54-53 victory.
Both teams sport excellent offensive playmakers. Garner and sharpshooting Sophomore Jake Teller look to help execute Beren’s pass-heavy offense. Schultz and senior Joel Brandwein run Posnack’s up-tempo, run and gun offense.
