Gameday Preview: #3 Flatbush Vs #11 Beth Tfiloh

These Beth Tfiloh Warriors showed they could tame a Wolfpack, but could they clip a Falcon? The answer to that question will be revealed on Friday morning when these eleventh-seeded boys from Baltimore, take on #3 Flatbush Falcons from Brooklyn.

Beth Tfiloh are the lone double-digit seed in the tier I quarterfinals, after dethroning the two-time reigning champions, Valley Torah Wolfpack on Thursday. They stayed composed under pressure, played aggressive defense, and executed when it mattered most.

Meanwhile, Flatbush demonstrated their dominance in their opening game against the Fuchs Mizrachi Mayhem, delivering a commanding 77-43 victory. Their defensive pressure, especially on the perimeter, stifled forced Fuchs into Mayhem, while their potent offense soared on the Sarachek stage.

Valley Torah may have succumbed to the Warriors' pressure, but that’s also Flatbush’s mantra. The matchup promises to be a defensive chess match, but Flatbush's size advantage and offensive depth could prove decisive.

Dani Ocken could have his moments, but the Warriors are up against a team led by all-star big man  6’3 Beni Keda, whose presence on both ends of the court will be intimidating to these Warriors.

The Warriors have already made their mark with an upset victory, but facing Flatbush is a different challenge. While the Falcons are 13.5 point favorites as per the panel’s picks, some Beth Tfiloh's grittiness could make for an intriguing 1:30PM tilt on MacsLive and at the Max Stern Athletic Center.
