Clock In, Clock Out: Macs Stay Perfect in Skyline

No drama. No doubt. Just another night of the Macs doing what they’re supposed to do.

Yeshiva took care of business Wednesday night, rolling past St. Joseph’s University Long Island 76–47 to push its unbeaten Skyline Conference run to 10-0. From the moment the Macs found their rhythm, this one followed a familiar script as Zevi Samet dropped 35 points and Yeshiva rolled to victory.

How It Happened

  • SJLI hung around early, pulling within one at 13–12 five minutes in.

  • A tough Zevi Samet finish sparked a decisive 24–4 Yeshiva run, breaking the game open.

  • The Macs stretched the lead to 37–16, silencing the home crowd.

  • YU went into halftime up 41–22, with Samet scoring 22 in the first half.

  • Yeshiva opened the second half with the same composure, pushing the margin to 56–27 five minutes in.

  • The lead never dipped below 21 in the second half.

  • The Macs’ advantage peaked at 31 late, as they cruised to a 76–47 win.

  • Yeshiva dominated the paint 44–16, shot 49% from the field, and held SJLI to 25% shooting.

Paint dominance set the tone:

Yeshiva owned the interior on both ends, outscoring SJLI 44–16 in the paint. That physical edge led to high-percentage looks all night and took away any chance for the Golden Eagles to hang around.

Zevi Samet Show:

Samet’s 35 points weren’t about fireworks, rather control. Like a true captain, He scored when the game was tight, sparked the decisive run, and ensured the Macs never lost command.

Defense and Efficiency did the rest:

The Macs held SJLI to just 25% shooting, limited second chances, and stayed disciplined offensively. Shooting 49% as a team, Yeshiva turned a competitive start into a comfortable, wire-to-wire win.

Stats:

Samet led all scorers with 35 points on 15-of-22 shooting, once again setting the tone offensively. Max Zakheim added 10 points, while Yair Dovrat filled the box score with 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals, anchoring YU’s effort on both ends. Yoav Oselka chipped in 9 points and steady minutes as the Macs leaned on balance and depth.
