A New Season Brings New Opportunities For Many Macs
On November 15th, the Yeshiva Men’s Basketball team opens their 2010-2011 season looking for revenge against SUNY Purchase after their loss to the very same Panthers team that defeated them in the first round of the Skyline Conference tournament last year. However, if the Panthers or any other team in the Skyline Conference expect to see the same team when they face off against the Macs this time around, they’ve got another thing coming.

The Macs travel to SUNY Purchase Tuesday night as the Skyline Conference playoffs begin, and MacsLive will be there to bring you all the action as it happens. The Maccabees swept the Panthers in their season series this year, and as MacsLive's Zach Weiner tells us in his playoff preview, they aren't likely to be slowed down by playing on the road.

Tip off is at 8 PM, with Macs Pregame at 7:45 PM.

And in a special halftime show, MacsLive will reveal the four final selections to the 19th Annual Red Sarachek Tournament.

On February 18th, Yeshiva was away at rival Mount St. Mary. With a win, the Macabees were assured a playoff spot. Lose, and their destiny would be controlled by others. Sharpshooter Chen Biron made sure of the former.

Unfortunately, Macslive was unable to travel with the team tonight to Newburgh, New York, where they will face the Mount Saint Mary’s Blue Knights in a game that could have a huge effect on the playoff picture in the Skyline Conference. Thankfully, Mount Saint Mary also provides fans with live audio for their home games. To listen in, go to the web player for Hudson Valley Talk Radio here. Macslive will pick their coverage back up for Sunday’s regular-season finale against Polytechnic.

Yeshiva closed out its 4 game home-stand with a win over the visiting Purchase Panthers on Tuesday night. With wins over Farmingdale and St. Joseph, Yeshiva positioned itself for a run at the playoffs and sent a message to the Skyline Conference: beware the MSAC (Max Stern Athletic Center). With a 7-3 record at home and a 2-8 record away, it is very clear that Yeshiva thrives at home. Tuesday night was no different.
