GIANT SLAYERS: Haim’s Heroics Lead Yeshiva Past St. Joseph

The Yeshiva Maccabees pulled off a historic upset Tuesday night, defeating Farmingdale State 88-80 in double overtime in front of a roaring packed house at the MSAC center. Martin Leibovitz led all scorers with 25 points and added 14 rebounds to record yet another double-double in this impressive season for him. Chen Biron followed with 21 points that came mostly from clutch three point shooting. We also saw Omar Haim record 16 points while Alex Claster added 15. However, statistics do not do this game justice.

On Jan 21st, a Yeshiva Macs team came ready to play. Their opponent was Mount St. Vincent, to whom they had lost 50-38 earlier in the season. The Macs were clearly the better team this time around.

The Macs enjoyed the comforts of home yet again, as they earned a dramatic 62-61 victory over the Mount Saint Mary Blue Knights at the MSAC on Monday night. The win gives Yeshiva a 4-3 conference record, still with plenty of games left, including what some would call “easy wins” against Bard, Sage, and Polytechnic.

NEW YORK, NY – The men’s basketball team played to a nail biting 62-61 finish on their home court against Skyline opponent Mount Saint Mary Monday evening. The Knights (4-6, 3-2) missed their final shot from the paint as time expired. Yeshiva improved to 5-6 (4-3) on the season.
